Starting a new fitness routine can be scary and... confusing. There is a lot of information out there telling you what is right and wrong in the fitness industry. So many trending new workouts or new methods to achieve the body of your dreams. The media makes us believe the purpose for working out is to achieve a specific beauty standard created by society.
I want to take you back to when you were an athlete, and if you weren't an athlete try to put yourself into this mindset. Beauty standards didn't exist. You felt you were in your element looking sweaty in the gym deadlifting next to the guys. It was ok because you were an athlete. You went to the cafe in baggy sweats with smelly gear. It was accepted because you were an athlete. You scheduled your classes around practice. You altered your eating and drinking habits around your games. You wanted to go to the gym and practice to perform better in your games. You had a goal and wanted to win.
Your fitness goals were based on performance outcome.
